    Due to the pandemic, thousands of people have lost their job. The world is currently experiencing a recession, which makes many people thinking which is the safest job that won’t lay off employees even when the world is in a financial crisis. There are many recession-proof jobs out there that do not require highly skilled workers.

    What Is A Recession?

    The temporary decline in financial and economic activity is known as recession. Generally, it is considered to be a recession when there is a fall in the GDP for 2 consecutive quarters. The increase in the number of unemployed people every month can also be one of the indicators. It is the National Bureau of Economic Research that usually updates when the world is in recession. At the time of recession, NBER uses monthly data rather than quarterly. A recession can last for 6 months to several years, to finally reach a point where the companies GDP is showing a positive change.

    Since 1870, the world has experienced 14 recessions, and the is still recovering from the one in 2020 due to Covid.

    Despite having a degree from a world-class university, a person can be laid off. But some skills can help one get a recession-proof job, transferrable skills being one. Soft skills like teamwork, negotiation, problem-solving, leadership, empathy, communication skills, working under pressure are a few that helps to one of the best jobs during a recession.

    The demand for both the types of the therapist is increasing every day but there is a very less number of people in this field, especially in the U.S. The lack of employees in this field allows applying for a lot of job openings.

While not all legal jobs are recession-proof jobs, there are certain legal professions like divorce lawyers, criminal defense lawyers, bankruptcy lawyers that might be. Legal assistants, paralegals, clerks, court records, courtroom security, court reporters can be pretty stable jobs in the legal profession and are most likely to keep their jobs.

    There is no assurance that these jobs are fully resistant to recessions but they are definitely better than most of the other fields when it comes to job security. There is no easy response when one wants to know how to safeguard their jobs. Recessions can lead to anxiety and depression as well but the most one can do to avoid such a situation is by staying vigilant and prepared.
