Icon of the Seas Cruise Ship: Redefining Luxury Travel

Icon of the Seas departs in 2024 and is now accepting reservations. It’s poised to revolutionize travel experiences, offering many complimentary activities to make the most of every minute of your cruise vacation, including world-class dining and iconic wows that highlight breathtaking entertainment like the magnificent AquaDome.

Given all the beautiful things you have to look forward to, you might wonder what cruise cuisine and holiday activities are included on a cruise on the first Icon Class ship.

The Size of the Icon of the Seas?

The ship, which is 1,198 feet long and has twenty decks, was constructed in Finland over seven years. When all 7,000 passengers and staff are on board, it can accommodate almost 10,000 people or the population of a small city. The magnificent entrance of the Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas in the bustling Port Miami is warmly embraced by the alluring glow of Miami’s coastal skyline.

It is almost 1,200 feet long and 250,800 gross tons in weight, making the Titanic appear like a tugboat. In contrast, the Titanic measured 46,328 gross tonnage and 882.9 feet in length.

Perfect Day at Coco Cay is a $1,759 per person tour to the western Caribbean, including a stop at the island.

The Best Food and Drink Selection

Here are some of the highlights from Icon’s more than 40 dining and drinking establishments:

Rye & Bean in the AquaDome serves a fantastic espresso martini. Request the cool foam on top for a playful take on the traditional drink.

Thrill Island’s Desserted milkshake bar was a must-visit: the Stranded Burro, an extravagant smoothie scented with cinnamon sugar topped with a tiny piñata. Of course, adults who want a more alcoholic pleasure can add a shot of booze to any of the milkshakes.

How it Offers the Best Family Vacations in the World?

Eight different neighborhoods, or regions, surround the Icon of the Seas ship. These neighborhoods include dining spaces, entertainment areas, kid’s play areas, and even an adults-only haven. We discovered that the community idea made it simple for us to navigate the massive ship and recall the various dining options and activities.

    • Thrill Island

Thrill Island’s Category 6 Water Park has some of the largest water slides in the ocean. Here, they also put your bravery to the test on Crown’s Edge, an attraction that combines a zip line, park ropes course, and obstacle course. It has participants hanging 17 floors above the open ocean off the ship’s side.

    • Surfside

The Lemon Post bar serves amusing beverages that are perfect for “mommy and kids” so that kids don’t feel left out, and the Surfside area is made with young families in mind. There are also kid-friendly restaurants, a mini water park, and splash pads for kids. They sampled the Pink Mermaid, an entertaining non-alcoholic beverage made with dragon fruit syrup that gives it a Barbie-esque pink hue. Additionally, it is delivered in a bag akin to a Capri Sun, so you can carry it around without worrying about spilling.

    • Aquadome

The AquaTheater, which hosts diving and acrobatic performances in the evenings, is located in this neighborhood looking forward. In addition, there are two bars, Hooked, a gourmet dining establishment, and AquaDome Market, Royal Caribbean’s first food hall concept. This AquaAction performance has everything, from robotics and aerial acrobatics to synchronized dancing and diving.

    • Central Park

One of the most beloved neighborhoods is Central Park, which has a Champagne window, a sushi window, and thousands of living plants. Because it’s open to the sky, this is a fantastic place to relax and take in the wind without needing to be on one of the upper pool decks.

    • The Hideaway

The Hideaway, an adults-only hideaway featuring the first suspended infinity pool at sea and a bar overlooking the ship’s wake, is an excellent place for adults seeking a private space. Cocktails like the Bae at the Beach are served at Hideaway Bar.

    • Suite Neighborhood

Coastal Kitchen, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, has its private pool, bar, and neighborhood reserved for suite guests.

    • Chill Island

With enough deck chairs for everyone, this peaceful area houses four of the ship’s seven pools. Swim & Tonic, Royal Caribbean’s first swim-up bar, serves tropical beverages to patrons who want to cool off in the pool.

    • Royal Promenade

With its array of live music venues, comedy clubs, bars with dueling pianos, and a direct doorway to the Royal Theater, the Royal Promenade is the place to go. Reserve a seat for the theater’s top production, The Wizard of Oz. With excellent effects that genuinely push the boundaries of what cruise ship entertainment can be.

    The Cost of a Trip

On average, each passenger pays $2,019 for a seven-night round-trip from Miami to the eastern Caribbean, which includes a stay at Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas. Without the island stop, the package costs an average of $1,809.

It includes San Juan, Puerto Rico, and St. Thomas in that package. Because of the tremendous demand for that particular journey, the earliest trip scheduled is on October 11, 2025.

Which other Aspects of the Icon of the Seas stand out?

We have included some other highlights here to help you determine whether an Icon vacation will be enjoyable.

In 80% of the cabins, families are the focus of the design. With its three-story video room, games room, karaoke room, ping-pong table, and slide, this $US80, 000 Ultimate Family Townhouse is making waves in the media.

    Overall Thoughts

In just three nights, we understood the Icon of the Seas well. Families with many generations may enjoy this ship to the fullest because there is plenty to see and do for every age and interest. With cutting-edge technology and fantastic performers—from influential singers and high dives to gifted pianists and elegant ice skaters—the entertainment onboard challenges limits. The mocktails and drinks served on board, which changed according to the location, were fantastic. There are around 20 restaurants, but the cuisine we tried was excellent.
