Around 5 p.m. on Thursday, the shooter opened fire on a road in Raleigh. He managed to avoid the officer for a few hours until being cornered in a house. At 9:37 p.m., police arrested the suspected gunman.

The police identified the alleged gunman as a Caucasian teenage male carrying a long gun and donning camouflage. However, authorities chose not to disclose his name or age. The police verified that they had detained the individual in a subsequent tweet.

An eyewitness reported hearing two loud gunshots, followed by another three, revealing something had happened in the neighborhood. In response to the armed suspect in East Raleigh, Governor Roy Cooper tweeted that he had discussed with Mary Ann and sent state law enforcement to assist. Four people were treated at WakeMed Health and Hospital‘s trauma center.
