Saugata Mukherjee, the head of content for the SonyLiv app, stated in an interview that the company aims to expand the content slate plan in the southern part of the country. Mukherjee also said they plan to drop the shows in three languages Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu, which Bengali and Marathi will follow.
He also said it could have been done earlier; however, much time had already been spent getting things together. Also, the groundwork had to be done. What it now requires to see is how well they perform.
Talking about Hindi content on Sony Liv app, he said they are planning for the next Rocket Boys and Scam season. The upcoming titles in this genre include the likes of Nikhil Advani’s Freedom at Night, the third season of hits that include Undekhi and Maharani aside from The Waking of a Nation, which is based on true events following the massacre at the Jallianwala Bagh.
