The crowd-funded remake is a homage to the original movie by 55 directors who came together to recreate 55 scenes from the film. Unlike the original and the 2014 remake, 10 actors played the role of Robocop, Alex Murphy. Interestingly, the remake isn’t a shot-to-shot recreation but instead relies on recreating specific scenes. David Seger, the producer of the remake, revealed that filmmakers were tasked with remaking some chosen plots but were free to use their imagination while maintaining a few common visual threads. Otherwise, they had the liberty to stray as far as they wanted. The filmmakers involved in the project included amateurs and professionals from New York and Los Angeles. They split the original movie into several parts and remade it with their creative flairs.
