Elon Musk unbanned Donald Trump from using Twitter, ending a prohibition that had been in place since a pro-Trump mob invaded the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, just as Congress was about to recognize Joe Biden‘s victory.
Percentage of Votes
After getting Twitter followers’ votes on whether Trump’s account should be reinstated, Musk announced the decision in the evening. With 51.8% of positive vote, Trump won. Previously, Musk stated that before deciding whether to restore suspended accounts, Twitter set up fresh rules and a content moderation council.
Trump’s account, which had earlier seemed to be suspended, soon resurfaced on the platform with all of his previous tweets – more than 59,000 – intact. Initially, his supporters got vanished. However, he swiftly started to win them back. However, as of late Saturday, there has been no new tweeting from the account. After less than a month after Elon Musk took over Twitter and 4 days after Trump announced his program for the 2024 presidential election, Musk resumed the account.
Will Trump Accept Twitter again?
Trump may or may not indeed come back to Twitter. Before his suspension, Trump, an unstoppable tweeter user, said that he would not return even if his account were reactivated.
He has been depending on Truth Social, a far more modest and better social media platform that he began after being banned from Twitter.
On Saturday, Trump stated in a video addressing to a gathering of Republican Jews in Las Vegas that he heard of Musk’s poll but then observed several issues on Twitter. He has utilized Twitter polls to make commercial judgments before as well.
