Opening of the Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands have remained closed for tourists following the pandemic, and it reopened on November 20th. This three-island nation made travel restrictions lenient but allowed only fully vaccinated individuals to enter the Caribbean.

Barbados becoming a Republic
On November 30th, Barbados celebrated its 55th anniversary of independence. It became independent from the United Kingdom; Barbados is the easternmost island. It announced its formal independence, and the island made Dame Sandra Mason, the head of state, the former governor-general of the island.

Soho Beach House Opens, Canouan
Many have known Soho House as an exclusive membership club. It opened its first house in 1995 in London. Since then, its homes have increased in number in various locations and now boast 27 houses in places like Mumbai, Istanbul, and Los Angeles, to name a few. But interestingly, it opened this year, its first beach house in the Grenadines on Canouan. It is located on the site where the Tamarind Beach Hotel was earlier.

Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Opens
Initially scheduled to sail afloat in January 2020, the company’s cruise venture is finally out. It is 298-passenger in an Evrima yacht made its maiden sail in Lisbon Portugal. The ship is slated to arrive in Barbados in the mid of November 2022 so that it can embark upon its Caribbean season.

Sandals resorts Spread to Other Areas
The largest family-owned resort in the Caribbean is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The first resort was set up in 1981 with just a single Montego Bay resort. However, the number of resorts has grown to as many as 16 resorts under two flagship brands spread over 8 Caribbean nations.
As per the Bloomberg News report, it was found that the Dominican Republic was on track to welcome at least five million travelers in 2021, despite an increase in the number of omicron cases. For instance, Jamaica was expecting a total of 1.2 million travelers in 2021 and anticipates that by the end of 2022, there will be more than 4.1 million visitors.
