    What is Warren Buffett buyingWarren Buffett was born in Omaha. His father Howard was a stockbroker and later on, he served as U.S Congressman. According to the people known to him from a much younger age, everyone called him a “mathematical prodigy”, a quality that became even more pronounced at a later age. 

    He often visited his father’s stockbroking company to chalk down figures and process them on the office’s blackboard. When he was eleven years old, he invested for the first time and bought three shares of Cities Service Preferred for $38 per share. 

    However, within a short span, the value of the share plummeted to $27 but he held on to the shares with great tenacity till the time, the value of the shares didn’t recover at $40. 

    He parted with the shares only to regret later as the value of the shares had gone up to as much as $200. However, he was not disheartened but it was a lesson for him that taught him to exercise patience in stock handling later on in life. 

    Education 

    Warren Buffett studied at Woodrow Wilson High School, Washington D.C because his family had to relocate so that his father could serve at the U.S House of Representative for his father’s new role as a congressman.

While in high school, along with his friend, he bought a pinball that was used for as much as $25. Both installed it barbers’ shop and very soon they were able to buy other pinball machines. He eventually sold the business that he operated in three different locations for as much as $1200. 

    When he was 16 years old, he enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania so that he could study business. After two years, he shifted to the University of Nebraska to complete his degree and finished college at 20. He already had as much as $10,000 of his earnings from all the businesses that he had tried his hands on. 

    In the year 1951, he received his master’s degree from Columbia University in economics. He grew under the able tutelage of economist Benjamin Graham and went on to study at the New York Institute of Finance. 

    He was very much influenced by Graham and followed his ideologies in economics.

From what he learned from Graham he was able to identify companies that were undervalued and eventually became a millionaire. And Berkshire Hathaway was one such textile company. From as early as 1960 he started gathering stocks and by 1965, he had control over the company. However, Buffett Partnership Ltd (Warren Buffett company) got dissolved in 1969 so that Berkshire Hathaway could be focused on better.
