Despite common belief, playing video games can be pretty dangerous. They won’t rot your brain, but they might come close to killing you.
One young man, unfortunately, experienced an infrequent occurrence of being hit by heavy lightning while indoors, relaxing on his couch and playing video games. However, it’s said that getting struck by lightning is one in a million but being struck while at home is undoubtedly an even more outrageously high probability. Aidan Rowan, 33, was playing on his PlayStation until he heard a loud crack, which was preceded by a strong feeling all over his body.
When his right arm started to feel scalding hot and his partner hinted at a burning smell, they determined to go to the emergency department. Ironically, Aidan was at the time and played the video game stray, which among other dismal scenarios, involved trying to rescue a cat from fierce thunderstorms. Art mirrored life as he found himself in a flaming situation of his own while seeking to move through the virtual metropolis, and away from the thunderstorms and heavy rain could have saved the cat, but not himself.
Rowan told The Metro that he was sitting on the couch playing a video game called Stray about trying to rescue a cat from vicious lightning bolts, among many other similar scenarios. There was a deafening thunderclap. He got a heavy feeling all over, and then there was a scorching fire in my right arm, in which there are currently burns. He was quite puzzled, and gathering my composure required just a minute. He went upstairs and pleaded with her husband for a wet towel since his arm was scorching, and he had no clue what had happened. Aidan was burning when he inquired about the fragrance. When I needed to go to the hospital, his partner called his folks. He claimed that he could see Aidan’s arm bruising. Rowan said nine department doctors examined him after getting to the emergency room.
Thankfully, he survived with only a few scars on his left arm and a burn on his right hand that resembled a starburst. Doctors surmised that the lightning had entered the chamber after bouncing off the water on the glass. To prevent the trauma of the encounter, he might put off picking up the controller and turning on Stray for the foreseeable future.
