Top Unsolved Mysteries of the World that can Boggle Your Mind

Humans are always, by nature, curious about the unknown. You might more than love to spend a winter afternoon reading about the top unsolved mysteries of the world.

Top Unsolved Mysteries of the World

    Dyatlov Pass

Nine ski-hikers died in February 1959, mysteriously on a Russian mountain. They had dinner in a camp that night and were preparing to sleep. But the group never returned.

Days after, mysterious footprints were found, around the large tent, leading searchers to the nearby woods. Two bodies were found at first, almost bare skin and shoeless. Other seven hikers were also found dead, with signs as if they had been brutally assaulted and were traumatized because of what they faced.

There were speculations for years, wondering whether it was UFO, Yeti, drug overdose, or even some inhuman force. But nobody could ever solve one of the strange mysteries of the world.

    Db Cooper

On November 24, 1971, a man called Dan Cooper boarded a flight from Portland to Seattle for a mere thirty-minute journey. Other passengers described him as a dark-suited man in his 40s.

He demanded $1 million, a truck of fuel and four parachutes from the crew. The plane landed, and he let everyone, including the flight attendants, go, and the plane took off after he got the cash and parachutes and the plane was refueled. Then Cooper instructed the crew members to fly towards Mexico with one stop in Nevada for refueling.

Since the plane landed in Reno, Cooper has never been found. There were intense searches following the recovery of packets full of money in 1980 and a parachute strap in 2017. But Cooper was like vanished in the air.

    Area 51

Area 51 is a US military base in southern Nevada whose existence was doubted until 2013 and known through a response to a Freedom of Information request made in 2005.

Historical evidence claims that Area 51 supports the experimental testing and development of aircraft and weapons. But satellite images have nothing to show regarding Area 51.

The area is highly secured to spark rumors that the government stores crashed UFOs here and conduct tests on aliens. Some even speculate it could be used for time travel research or shadowy government activities.

    Voynich Manuscript

You might wonder how a mere 250-page book could be included in one of the unsolved mysteries in history. Yes, we are talking about the Voynich manuscript written in a language or writing system utterly unknown to the world.

The manuscript includes plants’ illustrations completely unlikely to any of the known species and carbon-dated back to the 1400s.

Alchemist Georg Baresch from Prague was its first confirmed owner, who didn’t himself know how the manuscript came to him. Voynich purchased it centuries later and tried to establish its connection with an alchemist or a scientist. But the origin of the book is still inexplicable.

    Bridge at Overtoun

Imagine of a bridge where dogs go and never come back. The Overtoun Bridge in Dumbarton seemingly calls dogs to have perished. Over fifty canines have lost their lives there since the early 1960s, and more than a hundred jumped to get injured. Some even reportedly returned to leap onto the rocks fifty feet below for the second time.

It’s debatable whether dogs can attempt suicide, and the most interesting facts are that the dogs often jump from almost the same spot and in broad daylight.

A man threw his baby son down from the bridge in 1994, and since then, the myth of the place being haunted turned to that of it being scent extracting sounds that only dogs can hear.

    Tunguska Event

What happened on the fine morning of June 30, 1908, in Siberia remains to be one of the most thought-provoking unsolved mysteries of the world.

770 square miles of Siberian forest were flattened that morning, and no one really knows why. It has been said to be an explosion, with literally no evidence or witness. The phenomenon is familiar as “the Tunguska event.”

Scientists still haven’t yet concluded if it was an asteroid exploding over earth or something else.

    Bermuda Triangle

You must have been brought up listening to or watching stories about this mysterious expanse of the ocean somewhere between Bermuda, Miami, and Puerto Rico.

Numerous ships have vanished inside the Bermuda triangle. Pilots complain about their instruments going malfunctioned while flying over the area.

Is there any alien sitting there with his trap? Or what? The strange phenomenon happens to be one of the weirdest unsolved mysteries in history.

    Wow! signal

Jerry R. Ehman, a Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence volunteer, received a signal lasting for seventy-two seconds, probably coming from deep space while scanning radio waves. It appeared to have come from a place where there could be no human, one-twenty light-years away.

On the printout of the signals he noted while scanning, Ehman wrote, “Wow!”

    Wait, there are More!
