Notti Osama had already carved out a niche in the drill rapping genre. Although everyone knew him as Notti Osama, his original name was Ethan Reyes. He had relocated with his family to Young Avenue in Yonkers from Harlem.

It is a genre in rapping in which insults and taunts are doled out to rivals. Many people think that this was the very reason as to why Notti Osama lost his life. His brother, DD Osama, broke the news on social media and paid tribute to him.
What happened on the fateful day?
According to reports, the drill rapper got into a verbal tussle at a Manhattan subway station on July 22, 2022. He was stabbed to death following the scuffle with a 15-year-old rival at 3 PM. Notti Osama age was 14 at the time of his death.
However, the exact reason behind the fight has still not been found, but it is assumed that the tussle could have been the reason. The police found a broomstick and a knife at the site of the incident. The stabbing was caught on camera. Notti Osama was rushed to the Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he breathed his last.
Notti Osama’s death Explained
Reports suggest that Osama was with two of his friends. They were walking towards Hamilton Heights when they caught a glimpse of Martinez. On seeing him, Osama took a broomstick lying there and chased down the accused into the subway station.
Notti and his friends managed to corner Martinez and started hitting him with the broomstick. However, he raged, and Martinez took out a knife and stabbed Notti Osama in his abdomen.
When the police reached the site, they found the 14-year-old bleeding from his stomach. Although he was taken to the hospital, he was declared dead. Notti Osama death was quite unfortunate.
Who was accused of Notti Osama’s death?
Following the incident, the police arrested Kelvin Martinez. He was charged with first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession. Earlier, he was charged with second-degree murder. However, the cops changed the charges when they found out that Osama had cornered Martinez and threatened him with the broomstick.
Family’s reaction to his death
Notti Osama’s brother DD Osama, who is also into drill rapping, condoled his brother’s death and said that it was unfortunate that his brother took to street-style life. He also said that his brother took up such art that would turn this form of art into violence.
A cousin of Notti, Osama Kelvin Ventura, also said that the youngster had taken up such an art form that would eventually end up reciprocating violence.
Charges dropped against Martinez
In October 2022, Manhattan District Attorney’s office confirmed that Martinez was released of all charges. This is because the prosecutors could not deny that what Martinez had done was solely in self-defense.
According to a spokesperson, Notti Osama defended himself when forced to use the knife against the victim. The decision taken was based on the interviews taken of witnesses as well as video surveillance.
