With the increasing number of population, the competition to reach the top is also becoming tougher. Let’s look at the reason behind it. Here we will discuss about effects of overpopulation world may suffer from.
What is Overpopulation?
Overpopulation of the world refers to a population which exceeds its sustainable size within a particular environment or habitat. It is a situation in which a population in a given ecosystem limit the resources available for survival.
What causes Overpopulation?
An increased birth rate will result in population growth. Which can lead to the overpopulation of a species if such growth exceeds the resources within a particular geographic area. So, decreasing mortality rates can result in the overpopulation of a species if the increased lifespan of a species results in limiting the available resources within an ecological niche. A reduction in available resources can result in overpopulation if the amount of available resources cannot sustain the population within that region.

Problems of Overpopulation
As the global population increases, we need more food. Water scarcity also is one of the major effect as the population. More people means more demand for oil, gas, coal and other fuels. And of course lesser the chance of getting a top position in any type of competition.
There are a lot of rules and policies that are put out by the government to control this problem before it is too late. As responsible citizens we need to be aware of the same and act smart. Here are some solutions to overpopulation. Read about pollution problems from here.
