Apple is nearing completion of the long-rumored, long-delayed mixed-reality headset and is preparing for a launch as early as next year.
Apple’s most current job listings indicate that the firm is attempting to fill content production positions for the products. It indicates that the technology’s foundation is secure enough for developers, marketers, artists, and others to engage with it confidently. That was contrary to the product’s previous condition when conflicting viewpoints over the product’s set of features, specifications, and design resulted in moving goalposts that caused content providers headaches.
Virtual Reality (Vr)
At least one of these content production professionals would concentrate on building a 3D mixed-reality world, which is somewhat identical to Meta’s Horizon Worlds. Although all of its environments are purely virtual reality, an Apple job posting refers to linked activities in a 3D mixed-reality world, which may also involve virtual reality.
Based on a few job listings, the newsletter assumes that Apple intends to launch a streaming app for the headset, expanding on the company’s previous purchase of Next VR. A senior engineer and a previous employee of Apple who worked on self-driving cars were among the key employees who were transferred to the mixed reality product team.
What Would the Headset Include?
The headset would include the maximum resolution displays ever showcased in an overall headsets market. It has over ten cameras both on the inside and the outside, and it operates a brand new operating system called reality OS. It will contain mixed reality editions of Texts, Maps, FaceTime, and other apps. It is claimed that it will be known as “Reality Pro” or “Reality One,” costing between $2,000 and $3,000, and be far more costly than most market VR headsets.
