Boosting Engagement: Small Businesses Embrace Social Audio

    The social media platforms played a stellar role in catering to the needs of virtual networking for the home-confined population to stay connected and beat mental fatigue during the pandemic. During this time, the use of social media sky-rocketed, and in a bid to attract more users, some channels provided more lively and innovative options like social audio to build a more reliable and personal connection with people. Text, images, and audiovisual content were the only communication media available to social media users. But the pandemic compelled the social media channels to provide some exciting and intimate mode of communication that would give more heart-to-heart and live interactions between users.

    Small businesses are already using social media marketing to gain broader outreach and higher band visibility while building relationships with consumers and customers. With the addition of audio social media among the features of social media, there is an enormous scope of leveraging the engaging powers of social media for marketing. The new feature allows users to make voice calls like any other chat app and even includes a chat room for making group calls. To understand what is social audio, you can think it to be similar to like a podcast but with the feature of two-way communication in real-time. Listeners can participate in the conversation. The added advantage of the new feature is that it helps to accurately understand the context of the discussions, which is not possible in text or audiovisual communication. It’s easier for marketers to engage with consumers through verbal communication.

    Audio meetings

    Small business owners can hold online audio meetings with different groups and include about 50 participants during slack huddles. A feature is an excellent option for departments that need to brainstorm when meeting deadlines. It is also helpful to augment the video marketing tools that need nudge for more effective communication. The audio conversations are more stable than video calls that might face disruptions. 

    Voice messaging

    The social audio apps are like voice-based news feeds. Small business owners can use the feature comfortably and take advantage of listening to expired voice messages. It ensures that they never miss out on important notifications.  

    Live audio rooms

    Facebook offers Live Audio Rooms similar to traditional chat rooms where you can book a lot for holding meetings or symposiums and invite a speaker. You can invite up to 50 speakers but have no restriction on the number of listeners. But this social audio feature is available only to iOS users. 

    The audio experience expands the scope of engagement with customers and is an added weapon in the marketers’ armory.
