6 Reasons You Must Download TikTok In 2022

    It’s fair to say that TikTok’s star is very much on the rise. After getting its start back in 2016 – when it was launched in China as A.me, before being rebranded to Douyin later that year and then finally TikTok in 2017 – it’s only risen in popularity. Current estimates suggest TikTok has around 1.2 billion monthly active users, with that number expected to rise to 1.5 million by the time 2022 is over.

    Of course, TikTok has had its fair share of controversies as well. When Donald Trump was president, he examined TikTok closely, and although President Biden has put the app under far less scrutiny, some users still have security concerns. Still, ByteDance has assured its users that there’s no need to worry, and we see no reason to disbelieve them. 2022 is very much going to be TikTok’s year, so here are six reasons you must download TikTok in 2022 (if you haven’t done so already!).

    First and foremost, you should download TikTok in 2022 because the content on the app is excellent. There are a whole host of fantastic content creators making videos about all kinds of subjects; from sports to comedy and makeup tutorials, whatever you like, you’ll be able to find it on TikTok.

    Many creators find that they build up a massive following by making videos regularly on TikTok, and they can even make money doing so!     If something is going to become a trend, it will almost certainly originate on TikTok, especially nowadays. Trends like the “tell me X without telling me X” template, the Silhouette Challenge, and the “I Understood the Assignment” meme all got their start on TikTok, and there will be countless more throughout 2022.

    Whether you’re a regular user or a marketer, this is important to do. After all, keeping up with trends will allow you to make your content in response to those trends, and if you’re marketing a brand, you can hop onto those trends and try to get some more views by incorporating them into your campaigns!

    5. TikTok is all about the content

    Not only does TikTok have great content, but there’s a significant focus on that content. On other platforms like Facebook or Twitter, the platform owners try to encourage conversation around topics or incentivize multimedia content. Still, TikTok focuses on one type of creative endeavor and gets it right.

    On TikTok, you will be making short-form videos, and that’s all you’ll be doing. Of course, you will also be engaging with users via comments and watching other people’s content, but for the most part, the focus is on the videos. That means you’ll almost certainly not be drawn into lengthy debates with no winner, and you can focus on telling your story.

    6. The ‘For You Page’ is eerily accurate

    If you haven’t tried out the For You Page (FYP to those in the know) on TikTok yet, give it a shot. You’ll be amazed – and perhaps just a little spooked – by just how incredibly accurate it can be. The For You Page will show you the content it thinks you want to see by learning what you like, and it can be exact.

    Of course, that can also sometimes be a negative as well; after all, you’ll never discover new videos if you don’t seek them out. However, once you have found new types of video that you like, they’ll be incorporated into your FYP algorithm. This can lead to hours upon hours of scrolling, watching new videos, and getting drawn in like never before.
