1. Perfect game if you like CQC realism. This takes the ONLY good mission from Call of Duty in the past 10 years and bases the entire game on it. This takes me back to earlier games like Rainbow Six Vegas 2, where you actually had to plan, engage, react, and you actually have to use your head. This game is in EARLY ACCESS and is still fantastic. There are a few bugs, such as AI issues, but these will certainly be ironed out. The game modes to choose from are excellent and vary the game perfectly, this will be a game that I play for many years to scratch that tactical shooter itch. My only complaint is that there aren’t enough skins to choose from, but there are mods available to counter this. However, I would love to see this added to the game without mods.
2. I like this game and honestly i had a good time. I spent about 200 hours in this and most likely will spend more. Good map design, good weapon designs, gameplay is nice, and its strongly suggestive of you to play with friends. That being said, the game comes with its pros and cons:
Pro’s
a) Engages you to play teamwork.
b) A great PvE police shooter(finally!).
c) Access to an array of guns.
d) Breaching options are fun, and I hope they add more.
e) Plans to add more interesting maps and combat areas.
Con’s
a) The aiming is really in need of reworking (you can be aiming at the suspects head and the bullet flies some where else. Honestly I’ve played this game and then Tarkov, and I feel Tarkov’s aim is 100 times better than this).
b) Bots have aimbot and wallhack (this needs to be removed, it comes to a point where the suspects can hit you behind the walls eventhough you are silent and create some seriously BS moments).
c) Movement is also sluggish and needs rework.
d) Needs more maps and, if possible, other scenarios.
I do, however, recommend getting this game with a group of friends; it’s fun.
3. An almost perfect successor to the SWAT series in every sense. 4/5, but it could be 5 if they make the changes needed to suspect AI, skill, and behavior.
The positives of the game have already been covered extensively, so I’ll focus on what needs fixing.
The thing that made the suspect AI great in SWAT 4, is that it was varied and realistic in terms of the mission. Amateur criminals would be far more likely to surrender or run, and the hardened terrorists more likely to fight to the death. In Ready or Not, however, most if not all fight like former special forces, and the immersion is harmed by a few standout failings:
a) The AI suspects have no sense of self-preservation. Far too many of them will fight to the death even when it’s clear they don’t stand a chance or surrender and then choose to draw a pistol even when surrounded by 5 SWAT officers, which is just silly.
b) They never flee, they just find different ways to fight you, when really many of them should be trying to escape the mission area as they would do irl.
c) They don’t panic or act confused, they are always ready to fight, and their morale is that of jihadis – they never fear death.
d) They don’t use language to bargain, negotiate, or buy time. They just use their weapons.
e) They don’t react to others dying around them. They see all of their friends die, and they decide, ‘Yeah, I want that too’.
f) They have laser/xray vision, and can see you through things that you can’t clearly see through, and they always know you are a swat officer and shoot at you, regardless of how little they can see. They have no fog of war in other words, as soon as they detect you, they know your exact location and will shoot you through walls and objects.
If they can fix these issues, then not every mission will feel like a military operation instead of a police operation, and the game will easily be a 5/5.
4. It’s everything that I want in a REAL tactical shooter game since SWAT 4. Not only does it force you to rethink your methods rather than just a typical shoot ’em up, such as Call of Duty or Battlefield, but to actually use your head. One wrong move can make you regret it. This is a highly recommended game, and to support long-term, I can actually see the fruits of their love and labor in this game.
5. Since R6 has massively let me down with their franchise I was forced to look elsewhere for a tactical shooter. This game has more than filled the void for the gameplay I desire. It’s challenging as hell and has a wide variety of equity options to choose from. Love the maps and scenarios, and the graphics are pretty good as well. This dev team has earned themselves a new fan.
6. This game is great, the graphics are absolutely awesome and it requires you to actually use your head unlike most tactical games. The NPC’s act very realistic like an actual hostage situation, don’t have anything bad to say about it. Totally worth the $50 bucks I payed for it.
