Powerball on Monday night declared that the $1.9 billion drawing has to be delayed due to some security reasons. Powerball announced that additional time is needed to complete the security protocols, and it is very strict about its security requirements. Therefore all forty-eight lotteries should match all the security protocols before the jackpot drawing occurs.
Lottery security officers, along with independent auditors will monitor the drawing after the required security arrangements are completed, said Powerball in a statement.
The Statement
The Multi-State Lottery Association confirmed that a participating lottery needing additional time for processing its sales caused the delay, and therefore the Powerball drawing had to be put on hold for Monday night. However, no other timing was provided, and neither did Powerball disclose which state needed extra time.
About The Jackpot
The winning numbers from the drawing will be posted on the website Powerball.com, and a recording of the same will be published on the official YouTube channel of Powerball.
This Powerball jackpot is almost $400 million larger than the last record jackpot, and it will keep growing further until a player wins the gold pot.
By choosing an annuity and paying annually for more than twenty-nine years, a winner would get the $1.9 billion payout. Almost all the winners go for the cash, and the same for Monday night’s drawing would be as much as $929.1 million.
The grand prize, which reached $1.9 billion over the weekend, set a new record for any lottery occurring anywhere.
Only four jackpots have crossed $1 billion but are still very far from this. Starting at $20 million on August 6, this jackpot has grown massive over the last three months, and the last time anyone won the game was August 3.
Anticipations over the prize fund of the drawing are growing continuously as anyone has yet to take home the full jackpot even after rounds of drawings occurred.
