A 20-year-old Indianapolis resident was the victim. His name is Varun Manish Chheda. Ji Min Sha, a student at Purdue University studying cybersecurity, was named the suspect by Purdue University Police Chief Lesley Wiete. Ji Min Sha shared a room with Chheda.
What happened that night?
Chheda was playing video games with buddies online that night of his death, the Purdue University Police have confirmed.
Andrew Wu, one of their buddies, confirmed that he was taking part in that game with Chheda. Eventually, the two went to Park Tudor School, and Wu alleges that he heard a scream from the video game console.
Sha was not playing video games with his peers online, as claimed by a student news source, according to Purdue University Police Detective Lt. Matt Rosenbarger. Wu said that Sha was not actively participating in the internet game and verified this. Another buddy who knew Chheda sent a tribute online. He claimed they had attended school together for 12 years and were childhood friends.
Arunabh Sinha emphasized that he was intelligent, modest, moral, and family-oriented above everything. Varun made a difference in people’s lives wherever he went, and he was engaged whether at Sycamore, Park Tudor, Purdue, or elsewhere. He intended to impact our planet significantly, and we were cheated of that chance.
Chheda attended the institution as a junior, majored in data science, and was indeed a member of the Honors College at Purdue. Sha had not yet been officially accused as of Thursday evening, and he is detained in prison for murder. Sha contacted 911 the night of the murder, per the authorities.
Investigation
Investigators are still looking for a reason behind Chheda’s murder, claiming an inquiry is being made. An initial autopsy performed on Chheda on Wednesday revealed several high-force severe injuries as the death cause.
