Katie Holmes filed for divorce from the actor seven years after marriage in 2012. He got the divorce within a couple of weeks. A settlement of approximately $400,000 per month was agreed upon until Suri Cruise becomes 18 years old. Also, he would get exclusive custody of his daughter.
One of the main reasons for their conflict was converting to the new faith. To escape the influence of Scientology, Holmes was compelled to file for divorce. Their daughter, meanwhile, was put into a Catholic school just after the divorce.
Tom Cruise had agreed to full custody of the child to Katie Holmes. He was not supposed to contact Suri due to his faith and the couple’s disagreement over Scientology. Now that the veteran actor has decided to quit the Church, there are speculations that the father and daughter can come together again. It has been more than a decade since he last saw his daughter.
His two children continued to stay with him after he got a divorce from his wife, Nicole Kidman. As such, many say that this explains why the two children, developed an interest in his faith in Scientology.
