Strategies

1. Know your Market
“If I had simply asked people what they wanted, they would have asked me for faster horses!” – Henry Ford
Ford used to offer solutions to problems, which customers were not even aware of. Henry Ford before building up an automobile he wanted to know about what customers can expect from a car, how much money they would invest for a car and he conducted extensive research on which segment of people would purchase the cars. Till the time he launched Model T, he was aware that he has potential buyers holding a large market and what kind of features would attract the customer as well as how much it should be charged.
2. Efficiency is king
“It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste.” – Henry Ford
Ford Motor Company introduced an assembly line for mass production in a lesser time. He used to pay healthy wages to his workers which resulted in quality production and retaining employees. These two were the most important function for the ultimate efficiency. The improved and upgraded production allowed affordability for the customers as prices were dropped from $800-$350. This also helped in increasing the wages of the workers from $2.34-$5 per day.
3. Focus on quality
“Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.’ – Henry Ford
It’s always been seen the owner of a particular brand always gets excited about his product and hurry to launch. Ford believes in studying his product a lot of times before launching it to the audience. He always wanted to be 100% sure about his product before selling it to the consumers.
4. Nothing is practically hard
“There are no big problems; there are just a lot of little problems.” – Henry Ford
He believed if you want to achieve something you will do it anyway. No work in this world is there which can’t be done. Everything has a process and needs the patience to solve it; every task should be broken into small pieces and should be done one followed by the other. This is the philosophy, which was followed by Ford Motor company. Ford went step by step he first started with product development, after that he focused on pricing, and lastly by advertising and marketing.
5. Keep employees happy
‘There is one rule for the industrialist and that is: make the best quality goods possible at the lowest cost possible, paying the highest wages possible.’- Henry Ford
Employees’ satisfaction plays a major role in a company’s success. Ford looked after all his employees’ needs like a suitable work environment and offered compensation, doubled their salary, and making them feel like they are the asset of the company.
