Putting an end to all speculations, rumors, and leaks, the Google Pixel Watch is officially ready for launch. The company unveiled the phone during the I/O Developer keynote on May 11. But in the absence of any confirmed Pixel Watch release date, it will likely release during the fall. Perhaps, the launch of the much-anticipated watch will coincide with the release of the Google Pixel 7 series smartphones. According to a new report, Google is working on at least 7 different watch straps for a watch that is set to compete for the smartwatch powered by the Wear OS3, Google’s best wearable software. Pixel Smartphone users are happy that, at last, they are getting an in-house companion for their phones.
Google Pixel Watch – Design, Size, Colors
Google maintains its minimalist and clean design for the Pixel Watch 2022 to maintain parity of aesthetics with other Pixel devices. The rounded design of the Pixel Watch conforms to what Google displayed in its teaser. At a glance, the design includes a digital crown along with some buttons on the right side. Google presented the silver-colored watch while unveiling it, but there is yet no information about the color variants that would be available. The same applies to the sizes too, but there would probably be two sizes if Google sticks to the market norms. Multiple band options would help in customization.
Similarities with Apple Watch
Despite competing against Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Apple Watch Series 7, the Pixel Watch will have many similarities with the Apple Watch. One reason the watches have many similarities with the same manufacturers. The crown of the Google watch is similar to that of the Apple Watch. Another inspiration that Google draws from Apple is to offer removable straps for the watch.
The seven different straps would include a fabric band, a link bracelet, a Milanese-style mesh band, silicone, two kinds of leather, and a stretchable band that could remind of Apple’s Solo Loop.
Specifications of the Pixel Watch
The Pixel Watch 2022 has 1.5GB RAM and a co-processor for speedy performance. With 32GB storage, the Google watch outscores the Galaxy 4 watch, which is a delight for music lovers. The battery could be small, under 300mAH, which puts it between Apple 7 and Galaxy 4 watches. A USB-C charger is not for fast charging.
Fitbit Features
The most exciting feature of the Pixel Watch is that the device would leverage the Fitbit fitness tracking. It’s great news for Google fans that were never happy with the underperforming Google Fit health app. The watch would be a high-performing fitness tracker powered by the premium Fitbit features.
With access to the Google Play smartwatch store, Google Play, and Google Assistant, the Google Pixel Watch could be the smartest smartwatch.
