Why Should You Go For Google Classroom

The pandemic resulted in the shutting down of all schools worldwide, and a solution to that e-learning was accepted and adopted by many. This changed the way of learning for all. Google Classroom is one of the most used digital and blended learning mediums that we have adopted during the pandemic. Researches and surveys have shown that the e-learning and e-teaching ways increased the retention of information, and hence these changes might be permanent.

    What Is Google Classroom?

Google Classroom is an integrated web-based platform for all the G Suite services offered for education by Google. Google Classroom comes as a tool to organize all the classroom activities using Google Docs, Calendar, Gmail, etc. It is very minimal and super easy to operate. It is full of unique features and is always updated with more features for better learning and teaching experience. Teachers have an integrated platform for all the assignments, and it is easy for them to evaluate them, and for students, it is easier to have a platform to update their homework. The best part of this platform is that it is compatible with any devices, ranging from android to iOS, and phones to tablets, MAC, Chromebook, etc.

How to create a Google Classroom?

To create a Google Classroom on your mobile device, you need to install the Classroom app first. Once you have Google Classroom downloaded on your device, you need to tap on the add button and then go for the creative class option. A class will be created, and you can then name the class as per the requirement and then add a short description of what the class will be about. This is entirely optional. You also can add the subject, which is again optional. Once all these steps are done, you simply need to tap on ‘create,’ and your Google Classroom is created.

If you are creating a classroom through your computer, you need to go to the Google class website, which is the classroom. Google.com, and then follow the similar steps above. A Google Classroom code will be generated when you create a classroom, and the students can join the class using this code.

    Free Edition vs. Paid Edition

The free edition has most of the features. With the free edition, the students can access the settings to make their learning experience better by making changes in the settings. When classwork is created, this is added to the student’s calendar, and it creates reminders for students of their to-do works. Similarly, teachers get a to-review option with it. There are many other features like uploading homework, downloading templates, and much more. The free edition of Google Classroom is enough to make a very happening learning experience accessible to everyone. However, the tech is upgraded with paid edition, and you can integrate so many ed-tech tools into your teaching experience. It also helps you check for plagiarized work, manage classroom rosters, and more.

If you are about to start your online teaching journey and are looking for online learning tools, then Google Classroom is worth considering. It is simple to operate, easy to learn, and is accessible through so many devices – the best part is that it comes free of cost.
