First Descendant Tier List: All Playable Characters Ranked 2024

The First Descendant tier list is a free-to-play, massively multiplayer online role-playing looter shooter game developed and published by Nexon Korea Corporation. It was released on July 2, 2024.

It is a TPS game (Third-Person Shooter) that uses VFX and special effects. It is described as violent but mindful in the sense that the imagery is not too intense. It is available presently on platforms like PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles. Although it is free-to-play, the player has to get the game from Steam’s official site. As it relies heavily on FPS, aka frames per second, players must have a compatible system to enjoy the gaming experience. The First Descendant tier list shares insight into the functionality of the characters.

    First Descendant Tier List: Explanation

The First Descendant teir list maker has 5 categories of classification. The first descendant characters belonging to the S-tier warriors are the strongest, making any team shine. Meanwhile, those First Descendant characters in the D-tier are the weakest and should be avoided. These are the tiers:

    1. S-Tier – The best fighters in the game, hands down.
    2. A-Tier – Overall strong, but slightly less powerful.
    3. B-Tier – Although lacking sheer power, they can be used in certain situations.
    4. C-Tier – Usable, but performance is subpar and riddled with limitations.
    5. D-Tier – Not worth the investment. Weak and replaceable.

First Descendant Tier List: The Complete Ranking

S-Tier Characters – First Descendant Tier List

These are the best characters to build, according to our First Descendant Tier List. They definitely deserve all your Caliber points!

    Bunny:

Best for leveling up! Equipped with high speed and powerful electric AoE damage. She definitely shines in a party.
    Pros: High AoE damage.
    Cons: Weak against bosses.

    Freyna:

Specializes in poison damage with strong AoE effects and increased defense through her skills.
Pros: AoE damage is high, so excellent in combat.

    Valby:

Valby has great mobility, especially on water, with skills enhancing her abilities to clear large enemy groups.
    Pros: Exceptional mobility, great speed.
Cons: It relies heavily on water, so it is a slightly one-dimensional kit.

A-Tier Characters – First Descendant Tier List

They are great characters but slightly less powerful.

    Gley:

It offers unique vampire abilities with high weapon damage buffs but requires careful control on the player’s behalf.
    Pros: Quite effective against bosses.
    Cons: Lower mobility.

    Enzo:

A support character focused on ammo supply and team survivability, with explosive damage potential. It can be utilized well in some cases.
    Pros: High survivability.
    Cons: Weak damage.

    Ajax:

A tank with strong defensive capabilities, including barriers and damage reflection. As a tank, he can absorb tons of damage without breaking a sweat.
    Pros: Crowd control.
    Cons: Relies on Modules.

    Lepic:

A powerful damage dealer with the ability to briefly ignore fatal damage and heal. Useful in combat during crucial hits taken. It can be tricky to maneuver.
    Pros: Easy to master.
    Cons: Low mobility.

    Viessa:

Complex but effective with ice-themed skills that freeze and debuff enemies for high damage output. Again, it is tricky to fully utilize all abilities due to a unique playstyle.
    Pros: Excellent crowd control.
    Cons: Low survivability.

B-Tier Characters – First Descendant Tier List

These are niche characters that perform well in certain situations. They can be invested and sharpened by dedicated players.

    Esiemo

    1. Excels at using explosives, tossing bombs that stick to surfaces, including enemy armor, and detonating them for maximum impact. The heavy visual effects can stun the enemy.
    2. Pros: Stackable damage.
    3. Cons: Weak passive ability.

    Luna:

    1. As the latest addition to the game, Luna is a support character with a unique auto-aim weapon. Although Hotfix 1.0.7 fixed an issue with her Noise Surge in the Hard Intercept Battle Executioner, she remains a weak damage dealer.
    2. Pros: Unique weapon with auto-aim.
    3. Cons: Low base stats.

    Blair:

    1. Blair’s strong passive skill boosts Critical Hit Damage against enemies set on fire by his Stoves. As the last character in the First Descendant tier list, he is unique. He can also increase his mana and gain a defense buff.
    2. Pros: Critical Hit boost.
    3. Cons: Low mobility and survivability.

C-Tier Characters – First Descendant Tier List

These characters are subpar, cannot deal a lot of damage but can be used by players if they enjoy such a playstyle.

    Kyle:

    1. Kyle’s Magnetic Force allows him to heal and damage nearby enemies simultaneously. This ability is enhanced by his shield, and his Superconductivity skill lets him fly and release all stored Magnetic Force at once.
    2. Pros: Effective stuns.
    3. Cons: Weak in boss fights, limited to close-range attacks.

    Jayber:

    1. Jayber uses Assault and Medical Turrets to boost his attack, but he is heavily reliant on these turrets.
    2. Pros: Good for Hard Mode.
    3. Cons: Slow and low damage output.

D-Tier Characters – First Descendant Tier List

Ranked lowest on the First Descendant tier list and are not recommended.

    Yujin:

    1. Yujin is a strong team supporter, using drones to heal and assist allies, but his DPS is lacking.
    2. Pros: Excellent team support.
    3. Cons: Poor solo performance.

    Sharen:

    1. Sharen excels in close-quarters combat but is the weakest character in the game, with underpowered skills and vulnerability to bosses. However, her ability to become invisible makes her effective for stealth play.
    2. Pros: Good for infiltration.
    3. Cons: She is hesitant to use her passive skills.
