5 Essential Aspects That You Must Explore about Stubby Holders

Have you ever had a situation where your chilled beverage has become warm just because you kept it out for a little while? It can be very frustrating to put the beverage back in the refrigerator. But you don’t have to do that after all! Stubby holders can help keep your beverage in the same temperatures even while they’re in your hand. As a bonus, if there’s any condensation, your hands will remain dry too!

5 things to know about stubby holders

Here are five things you should know about stubby holders.

    1. Great marketing tool

Stubby holders can work as great marketing tools. You can imprint your brand logo on the custom stubby holders and personalize them. These holders can then be distributed to prospective customers. You can create designs that catch the attention of your customers. They’re perhaps the least expensive way to promote your brand and products.

It is best to choose a light-colored stubby holder for your marketing design as that will help pop your logo. Contrasting colors can help bring out your design. Also, stubby holders can be used for a long duration, so you won’t have to keep spending on marketing campaigns.

    1. They were an Aussie invention

Well, not quite, but the word stubby comes from the beer bottle designs back in the 1980s. In 1983, beer bottles were shorter and fatter. But there is still debate as to who actually invented the stubby holder.

The more accepted answer is that Bonnie McGough invented the stubby holder in 1981 in the USA. He, however, called it a kozy. But to accommodate the fatter kind of beer bottles in Australia, Shane Walsh made a separate design.

So, if you want to differentiate between the two, you could say kozies were invented by an American, but a stubby holder was created by an Australian.

    1. They weren’t actually invented for holding

The general understanding about stubby holders is that they were invented to make sure your hands don’t get wet from the drink. Some even think that it is for preventing your hands from warming up the drink.

Both reasons would be a bit wide off the mark. Originally, stubby holders were invented to make sure your beverage remains cold even after removing from the refrigerator. They are meant to insulate your drink and reduce any chances of conduction.

When you bring out your beverage into the sun or into warm weather, the drink starts condensing. Granted, it does wet your hands as a result. But having a stubby holder prevents the heat from the environment from even transferring to your beverage. So, you’d still be drinking a cold beverage even if you’ve been holding it for a good amount of time.

    1. It is like a wetsuit

Stubby holders are made of a material called neoprene. This is the same material used for making wetsuits. As you well know, wetsuits make sure you remain dry even after you completely submerge yourself in the water. It’s the same concept for stubby holders too.

Neoprene not only helps keep the water out, but it’s also resistant to the sun’s UV rays. So, your beverages will be protected from the sun’s heat.

Since neoprene is the stretchy kind, it is one of the only kinds of rubber materials that you can do any printing on. This is why they make such a great marketing tool. They keep your drink cool, and they make your brand cooler!

    1. Can be used for any occasion

Stubby holders can be used on literally any occasion. They have also been spotted in the hands of royalty! Of course, this was when Prince Harry was given a couple of stubby holders when he came to Australia as part of his tour, but that still counts!

Whether you’re at a wedding, a party or even just hanging out with your friends or loved ones, you can use stubby holders to keep your beverage cold. It is especially helpful during the summer season, as you wouldn’t want to gulp a warmish drink!
