The text conversations between Parag Agarwal, Twitter CEO, and Elon Musk showed how the relationship imploded rapidly. The revelation of the private messages comes up as a part of the lawsuit by Twitter against Musk, who is now intending to back out.
Who texted Musk
Texts revealed that Twitter’s ex-CEO Jack Dorsey and many other notable figures from the banking, finance, media, and tech sector, including Larry Ellison, Reid Hoffman, Joe Rogan, and Sam Bankman-Fried, had conversations with Musk regarding Twitter. Conversations included praising Musk’s decision and many other things. Some billionaires also showed interest in buying the platform and offered money to Musk.
The conversations also included a word from Gayle King, a TV personality, who approached Musk for an interview. Podcasters like Joe Rogan were also on the list.
Musk had a good amount of conversations with the executive personnel of Twitter. Apart from the CEO, the co-CEO of Twitter and other executives also talked to Elon Musk via text messages. After the relationship between Musk and Parag got imploded, Musk suddenly revealed that he was willing to buy Twitter and not join the board. He cleared in his reply text to Parag that joining the board was a time waste for him.
What Musk had to say
Musk solicited various persons for financing the deal of $44 billion and sought advice on operating the company. Many people themselves contacted Musk to help him with both money and ideas, and Reid Hoffman and David Sacks are two of them. Salesforce founder Marc Benioff, on the other hand, suggested ideas regarding Twitter’s operating system.
A few billionaire friends like Tim Urban and Jason Calacanis also texted him offering help. Joe Lonsdale from VC and Marc Merril, the founder of Riot Games, also talked to Elon Musk regarding the $44 billion Twitter deal.
