The Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26) is in its 26th year (UNFCCC). This yearly gathering brings the convention’s 197 members together to take coordinated action on climate change.
Climate change mitigation (the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming), adaptation to irreversible environmental impacts caused by climate change, and financing to support developing countries in their efforts to transition away from fossil fuels and become more resilient to climate change impacts are all discussed at the meeting.
