The FBI is looking into the hacker who took credit for this weekend’s massive Grand Theft Auto 6 content leak.
The high-profile hacking of ride-hailing firm Uber has issued an update on the company’s findings. They also claimed to have been carried done by the same perpetrator. In a recently updated blog post, Uber stated: There are reports that this actor violated video game developer Rockstar Games over the weekend. They worked closely with the FBI and the US Department of Justice on this issue and will support their efforts.
In a statement, Uber believed the perpetrator to be associated with a cyber-attack organization named Lapsus$. It has become highly engaged in the past year and has previously compromised several other tech firms this year, including Microsoft, Samsung, and Nvidia.
Rockstar revealed that it had experienced network attacks that had caused sensitive data to be removed from its systems. Even though the GTA creator expressed great disappointment, there was no long-term influence on production. There were no interruptions to live programs like Grand Theft Auto Online.
A 16-year-old Oxford student going by the internet aliases “White” or “Breachbase” was reportedly one of the lapsus$ group’s members. One of the seven people detained by the City of London Police, Whitereal’s name was publicly disclosed by other attackers. They were eventually released while an investigation was underway. At that time, the dad of the 16-year-old remarked that he had never heard of anything like this. He never mentioned hacking, although he is skilled with computers and frequently uses them. He constantly seemed to be playing tricks on me. They are going to make an effort to prevent him from using the computer.
