The wait for Avatar 2 is finally over. Fans are gasping with joy to hear the news about the film’s premiere in London, and Avatar: The Way of Water was unveiled, after a long wait, to some of the media houses.
The record-breaking epic from James Cameron finally gets its sequel after thirteen long years. After the film’s premiere, initial reviews only indicate that it was worth waiting for over a decade.
David Ehrlich, the Chief Film Critic of IndieWire, posted on Twitter about the film that you should never bet against Cameron, and if you do so, you are nothing but dumb. He also mentioned that Avatar fans would get the best theatrical experiences they haven’t enjoyed for ages.
Mike Ryan, the Uproxx writer, also agreed with Ehrlich. He said he was overwhelmed with the spectacle Cameroon has created from a visual and technical standpoint. He said there were times when he just stared at things from the movie and forgot to concentrate on the plot.
Josh Horowitz, Happy Sad Confused host, wrote that the filmmaker has shown others how to make a film. He also cautioned against doubting Cameroon.
Peri Nemiroff called what Cameroon created through Avatar: The Way of Water was mind-blowing and stunning in terms of visuals, effects, and frames.
The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw may, however, demotivate the fans as he didn’t seem to be much impressed with Avatar 2. He called it a “silly, soggy motion-smoothed epic of solemnity without a single interesting visual image.”
Oscar-winning Spanish filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro earlier in last month reviewed the film as an achievement and another epic, just like the original movie.
