Apple Inc. has set a target around March 8 for launching its new updated iPad and low-cost 5G iPhone to create a memorable year for new product launches.
As per Bloomberg News, this announcement is the first significant event for Apple after its MacBook Pro debuted in October last year. Like Apples’ other launches recently, this one will also be online as per people who did not want to be identified as the matter is still private.
The company is returning from the holiday quarter where it saw its result surpass Wall street expectations and allay fears that sales could be affected by the supply chain crunch.
Apple is expected to introduce a plethora of new devices and its biggest in a single year after setting sights higher for 2022. Given that it has announced a timing that is still more than a month away, it is possible that the company’s plan may change if there are production or other delays.
A spokeswoman from the company did not comment on the company’s plans.
The new iPhone SE model will be updated in two years, adding features like 5G capabilities, an improved camera, and a faster processor. But the design will be similar to the existing model, which was released in April 2020.
The new iPad model will be an updated version of the Air model and features the 5G and faster processor. In March, Apple is also planning a New MacBook, which will have Apple-designed chipsets.
The company is also planning to release iOS 15.4 in early March, apart from the new devices. The software update will include Face ID support in iPhones and iPad for users wearing masks, which will make it easier for devices to recognize and unlock devices. The inclusion of universal control and new emojis will simplify handling keypad or trackpad across multiple Macs and iPads.
After the March event, Apple is like to announce its software updates for the iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple watches at the annual Worldwide Developer’s Conference. It is also expected to have multiple theme events in the fall to launch it’s iPhone 14 and new Macs.
The line-up from the Apple stable in 2022 will include the new MacPro and iMac desktops, an updated low-cost MacBook Pro, a designed MacBook air, four iPhone 14 models, three Apple Watches, and new Air Pods. The company is planning to start a new service where Apple can accept payments from credit cards.
Apple is now working on a high-end reality headset that is expected to be released in 2023. The company had planned to release the headset in 2022 end, but development challenges have delayed the timing.
