Check Out What is New on Amazon Prime; Move to Boost Growth?

If you are addicted to music and a subscriber of Amazon Prime, your good times have started right from this holiday season. How many songs could you listen to as an Amazon Prime member? If you have not yet paid attention to the total number of songs the tech giant offers its Prime subscribers, it was two million up to October 2022.

But from November 1, you can access up to 100 million ad-free songs on Amazon Prime, along with podcasts that will charge you no extra. Yes, this is new on Amazon Prime, and as the establishment finds this holiday season to be pretty hard to maintain expected growth, it has offered new benefits to Amazon Prime members.

    Where does Amazon Stand?

Amid slow growth rates and menacing competition, Amazon declared to include a broader free-tire of music streaming for users with prime subscriptions last week. Here are a few stats to clear the picture.

    • Over two hundred million people worldwide possess Amazon Prime subscription at present.
    • In the USA, the annual growth was near about 20% for once only.
    • The recent data and statistical analysis hint at a growth prospect of only 2% by 2025.

    Rivals are Growing Fast

The fact that might haunt the Amazon authorities the most is the slowdown at a time of toughest competition.

Walmart introduced its membership service in 2020, providing customers with free shipping on innumerable items. Today, the number of members of Walmart+ has reached eleven million, and Walmart now has a Paramount+ subscription service as well.

Moreover, other rivals of the Seattle tech giant, like Best Buy Totaltech, are also growing faster to attract new customers. Therefore it is inevitable why Amazon made such a move, whereas Apple Inc. and Spotify raised their prices for streaming music.

Retail analysts assume that Amazon may be attempting to keep away from creating much whitespace for its rivals. The analysts say that expanding the music catalogue for Amazon Prime members for free is a way to hit back.

    Amazon’s Pick on the Move

The Amazon officials, however, tried to state the fact differently. Steve Boom, Amazon Music Vice President, said it is another innovation in search of a higher entertainment quotient for Prime customers, apart from the value and convenience they already relish.

Jamil Ghani, Amazon Prime Vice President, explained another point behind this offer that is new on Amazon Prime. He said that they want to keep investing in Prime, and the first zone that could be considered for investment was music. After figuring out how this could be possible, ninety-eight million ad-free songs were included for the prime subscribers without taking any extra cost.

    Amazon Prime Charges

    • In case you love to be hooked on to numerous song numbers of different categories and thinking of buying prime subscriptions, the charges are:-
    • $14.99/month or $139/year for Amazon Prime members only
    • Amazon Music costs $8.99/month or $89/year and $9.99/month for non-Prime subscribers.

    Apple Charges

    • After raising the price of Apple Music very recently, Apple charges $10.99 per month for an individual subscription plan, which was $9.99 per month previously.
    • Apple One bundle subscribers are also paying a few extra bucks now for enjoying Apple Music and Apple TV+, along with cloud storage and gaming. The prices vary on the types of plans.

    What about Spotify?

Spotify, the fastest grower in recent times, also revealed its plans to raise prices for US subscribers as their stock experienced a sink.

Best Buy is also in the Race

Best Buy Totaltech offers its customers quality services like free delivery, discounts, installation for tech products, product protection and valuable tech support. It takes $199.99 a month for the services and has been quite successful in its attempts to engage new customers.

    Other Strategies of Amazon

Expansion of the music catalogue is not only the service that is new on Amazon Prime. Amazon also added a same-day delivery facility from third-party retailers this year, and free delivery of food at selected restaurants was also offered after the tech giant signed a deal with Grubhub.
