How to Build a Brand and Form a Branding Strategy on Amazon

It is 2021 and more and more people have stopped shopping the traditional way and have moved online and so many sellers have started selling their products online. The world is now customer-centric, one needs to be very careful when selling their brand because any good praise can turn into a win situation for the brand and any bad comment can prove to be a risk to the brand. Branding is more than a name and logo, it is an identity. A good brand does not mean limelight overnight, branding is a long and involving process. It is a constant equilibrium between the brand owners/creators and the consumers. Amazon was founded in 1944 by Jeff Bezos and it started its race in the stock market in 1997 and has ever since only seen a continual rise.

Jeff Bezos has always made this clear to everyone that Amazon is a customer-centric company as the company started with the vision to be World’s most customer-centric company and even today he mentions the company’s motto to be obsessive customer focus. It is clear that when one tries to sell their brands on Amazon they need to see their vision themselves and be equally customer-centric. The process to be a seller in Amazon has completely changed over the years. Earlier the process to become a seller in Amazon was just to have a product and an ad to showcase the product. But now, to be a seller on Amazon you need to have a brand and your brand needs to have a presence outside Amazon as well. Let us get used to the idea of digital marketing already. When you have a presence outside Amazon you will be able to divert a good range of traffic towards the website when your product is being searched in the search engines and SEO detects the presence of it in Amazon and shows in the results.

Secure your Relationship with Amazon, but how?

The relationship between consumers and the company is a complex one but is very imperative. When this relationship is maintained properly and with honesty then the benefit that the company gets out of this is highly satisfactory. If a company is not able to establish credibility in today’s competitive world then the branding is not done right. Revisit your branding strategy and build on it once again. The below are some ways by which you can build a constructive brand on Amazon:

    • Identifying your Target Audience:

The best way to sell your product is to first identify and create a buyer persona. This way you are able to plan your brand outreach. In order to build a buyer persona, you need to identify your target audience’s demographics, needs, convenience, and factors that will lead to a positive sale from this particular customer. Customer loyalty is still a thing today and it is what will make your logo a go-to brand when it comes to a particular product. Make the customer feel “safe” when it comes to your brand, build on the trust.

    • Product Quality and Packaging:

The word of mouth is still one of the best marketing strategies and it works every time. Let us you buy a dress from this brand and you visit a friend’s party where everyone is praising your dress. You will tell them about this brand that you found online and at some point or other these friends or family will end up looking up this brand online. Yes, sounds very medieval but is still an effective way of marketing. And similarly, your product and brand need to stand out in terms of quality to be able to be the topic of discussion.

    Cross-channel Marketing:

There are thousands of brands in Amazon that are fighting for the top search spaces and that is the reason you need cross-channel marketing as well. This way your outside customer reach influences yours inside Amazon customer reach.
