    About Company

    AppFolio is a firm that was established in 2006 to provide SaaS (software-as-a-service) applications for vertical marketplaces.  

    AppFolio mainly concentrates on cloud-oriented property management software services, solutions, as well as data analytics to the realty vertical.

    The headquarters of AppFolio is situated in Goleta, CA, in the Santa Barbara region.

    Foundation and Early Years

    AppFolio came into existence in 2006. The co-founders of the company were Jon Walker and Klaus Schauser. Klaus was also the founder of Expertcity, the online services segment of Citrix Online. 

    Initially, AppFolio concentrated on property management services for small to medium-scale enterprises. In 2007, it commenced its business by launching the product named AppFolio Property Manager.

    2012 November witnessed the acquisition of MyCase by AppFolio. MyCase is a law practice management software provider.

    In 2015 April, AppFolio took over RentLinx, a real estate software agency. The takeover incorporated privileges to the site ShowMeTheRent.com. This grew the scope of the clientele of the company and offered them a better listing footprint. 

    In 2015 May, the company declared it’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) which was brought out in June same year.

    In 2018 September, the company announced the takeover of WegoWise, a utility analytics software. 

    In 2019 January, AppFolio took over Dynasty Marketplace, Inc. at a valuation of $60 million.

    In 2020 September, AppFolio declared the selling of MyCase to Apax Funds, a private equity agency, at a valuation of around $193 million.

    The stocks of AppFolio, Inc. are publicly traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange with the ticker symbol APPF. It is a Class A stock and forms a component of the Russell 2000 Index.

    As of 2020, the company had 1,335 employees.

    1.  AppFolio Investment Management 

    AppFolio Investment Management is a comprehensive software solution tailored for realty investment supervision. It also features some useful widgets for syndication and fund handling. 

    2. AppFolio Property Manager

    AppFolio Property Manager is a comprehensive property technology tool that has marketing, accounting, management operations, and leasing features for single-family and multifamily, student accommodation, moneymaking, public relations, and hybrid portfolio property handlers.  

    AppFolio offers ground-breaking software, data analytics, and other services to the realty sector. Their business-based and cloud-oriented solutions have been customized to allow their clients to switch their business ventures digitally, deal with vital business activities, and offer outstanding customer service.

    AppFolio won the first rank in the list of the Fastest-Growing Companies published by Fortune magazine in 2020.

    During the same year, the company got recognition from Glassdoor as the Best Place to Work.

    Jason Randall

    Jason Randall is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of AppFolio, Incorporated. He has been a part of the leadership team of the company since 2009. He is also serving on the Board of Directors of the company. He concentrates on developing a thriving firm, nurturing a successful team, and making sure that the company provides solutions that offer outstanding results to the clientele’s businesses. Jason served in different executive-level positions and strategic roles such as the Senior Vice President of MyCase and Senior Vice President of AppFolio Property Manager.

    Before joining AppFolio, Jason had been a part of various product development projects for other software-as-a-service firms like Citrix Online that underwent a merger with LogMeIn, Incorporated. 

    He has a B.S. degree from the University of California in Environmental Studies and is one of the top CEOs, according to the Glassdoor List.

    Jon Walker

    Jon Walker is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and also a co-founder of the company. He was a part of the co-founding mission of AppFolio with a goal to transform the manner businesses develop and contest by facilitating digital makeovers. Walker heads the technology framework and outlook of the company and looks after major future-oriented endeavors such as AI throughout the enterprise.

    Before joining AppFolio in 2006, Walker served in different executive roles, heading quality control and engineering design teams like Chief Technology Officer of Miramar Systems (acquired by Computer Associates) and Versora (currently, a segment of Kaseya), which is a vendor of open-source Windows for Linux Migration Software. He was also a senior technologist for Xing Technology, Inc. (acquired by Real Networks) and Nortel Networks. Jon was a contributing editor and worked for LinuxWorld Magazine. He is the holder and contributor of several copyrights. Software designed under Walker’s supervision has been used by more than 20 million PCs across the world.

    Jon has a B.S. degree from Westmont College in Business and Economics and participated in computer science training programs at Westmont College and University of California, Santa Barbara.

    Mat Mazza

    Mat Mazza is the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel for the company. He heads the compliance, legal, and administration matters of the company. He became a part of AppFolio as VP, Legal Counsel in 2016, and had the responsibility of all corporate and law affairs. He took up the role of the Chief Compliance Officer in 2017, handling crucial policy and statutory matters. In 2019, Mat was nominated as General Counsel.

    Before joining AppFolio, he was associated with Deckers Brands as a senior counsel. There he had the responsibility of handling a wide range of legal matters. In 2003, he resumed practicing as a multifaceted commercial and business litigant.

    Mazza has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley. 

    Amy Meyer

    Amy Meyer serves as the Chief People Officer for the company. She heads the human resource department. Here, she collaborates with leaders across the firm to draw, grow, and sustain the proper workforce for AppFolio. She was hired by AppFolio in 2015. At that point, she had twenty years of experience with her of heading HR companies. Before joining, she served in the following organizations:

    • VP, Human Resources for Citrix Online (that underwent a merger with LogMeIn, Incorporated). Meyer had the responsibility of the human resources business collaborators of the firm, mergers and acquisitions, and talent pool. 
    • HR Director, Asia Pacific territory and VP, Human Resources for Citrix Online. 
    • Earlier, Meyer served as Director of HR at Openwave Systems, working in various corporate and segmental Human Resource functions. 

    Meyer has a B.S. degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Biopsychology, and has done the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She has been nominated among the Top 50 Businesswomen on the Central Coast of California.

    Aimee Miller

    Aimee Miller serves as the Chief Marketing Officer for the company. She heads the product line and corporate marketing planning and implementation activities. In 2009, Aimee became a part of AppFolio as VP marketing, developing the brand of AppFolio from a tiny startup to a software-as-a-service firm that is traded publicly. Before joining the company, Miller worked in senior roles in major product management, marketing, and account management for SaaS firms like Senior Director for Citrix Online in Field Marketing. She headed the policymaking and execution of every corporate demand creation operation.

    Aimee has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Psychology. Her name has found its place in the Great Place to Work For All and 2020 Fortune Leadership awardees, acknowledging leaders at firms that feature an appealing workplace tradition

    Revenue for the whole year is anticipated to be in the $348 million- $355 million range.

    Diluted weighted average stocks are estimated to be around thirty-six million for the whole year. The revenue showed steady growth for the fiscal ending 31st March 2021.
