    • Ubisoft, a French company was previously known as “Ubi Soft Entertainment SA”. This video game company has its headquarter in the suburbs of Paris- Montreuil.

    History

    • Gerard, Michel, Claude, Yves, and Christian, the 5 sons of the Guillemot family, took over the mail-order firm in France by their parents.
    • It was in their 20’s when the brothers focused on computer accessories and hardware and that is how Guillemot Informatique was founded. It was then they realized the opportunity they can get if expanding the hardware line.
    • Ubisoft, a second firm that dealt with computer software was founded by them in 1986. Foreign titles were imported by them and further distributed to the French retailers. By 1988, they further developed their business and started dealing with Electronic Arts, Sierra, Microprose, and Novalogic.
    • They got the license for France by vendors and in 1989, in England launched the first global subsidiary which was later expanded in the USA and Germany.
    • It was then that Sega and Nintendo in the gaming industry began to spur and that is how Ubisoft Games came into existence and now are one of the leaders of the global gaming industry. At that time, they added Star Wars and street racer to its lineup.
    • In 1993, the company got a license for developing software for the gaming platform of Sony and Sega, and the very next year, Ubisoft had its own house for production. Rayman was the first game unveiled by Ubisoft and by 2001 it has a sequel and more than 6.5 million copies were sold globally.
    • The company has made a lot of acquisitions since then including acquiring Sinister Games, Red Storm, Blue Byte, etc, and has its presence in more than 55 countries including China, Canada, Australia, and India.

By providing deals, the firm reduces costs and the Ubisoft club members get to earn “units” based on them playing games. Not only that, but Ubisoft is the third largest video game firm that is independent as well.

    Ubisoft began expanding to 55 countries including china, Canada, and Romania in 1990. It was able to keep up with the growth in-game market because of internalization. Even today they continue to evolve and learn a new skill, to grow.

    • Adapting

    Ubisoft has always been famous for adapting and coping up with the changing advanced technology. To adopt the consoles need in 1995, the company came up with Rayman characters without legs or arms. And it is because of evolving technology and adaptability the company came up with Just Dance, a video game that is music-based. It even adapts and works according to the development in its industry as seen in Assasins Creed, Ghost Recon, Far Cry, etc.
