    William Henry Gates III or popularly known as Bill Gates was born on October 28th, 1955 in Seattle, Washington, United States. How old is Bill Gates? He is 65 years old. He co-founded Microsoft Corporation, which is the biggest PC software company in the world along with Paul Allen. Eventually, he became the richest person in the world.

    Gates was born into an upper-middle-class family along with his two siblings, an older sister Kristianne and a younger sister, Libby. His father William. H Gates Sr, was a law student when he met Bill Gates’ mother Mary Maxwell (his future wife). Bill’s mother was athletic and was engaged in student activities and leadership affairs. 

    All the three Gates siblings were encouraged to strive to work hard for excellence and have a competitive bent of mind. Bill Gates was a keen player at board games and he was skilled enough to organize summer house athletic games on Puget Sound. He was excellent at Monopoly. 

    A considerable period in Bill Gates’s life was spent with his mother as he shared a very close bonding with his mother. His mother worked as a teacher briefly only to give up her career so that she could bring up her children. Aside from helping out her children, she also spent a considerable amount of time on charitable activities and civic affairs.

    You must have energy

    Bill Gates founded Microsoft only when he was 20 years old along with Paul Allen. Although, he was confident about his expertise and skills, however, the only thing that made him worry was whether or not he will be able to pay his employees should any customer default in making payments. So, he says, if you are starting a company ground up, it is important to be prepared to take certain risks. 

    Enjoy your work

    When you perform a task, do not take it as a job. Enjoy your work. His success lies in the fact that he has worked with smart people and also took up new challenges and worked on them. So, when you enjoy doing what you do, you can continue with the work. Success must get into the head. 

    Play Bridge

    We know that Bridge is a common and popular game. Bill Gates enjoys playing the game due to it having several characteristics. It throws many challenges and he believes that if you can play this game, you will better your chances of success with every passing day. 

    Work with good people

    Bill Gates brought Windows to the market in 1985 but he said that he developed the concept in 1983. He believed that GUI or graphical user interface was the future. So, he worked towards it. So, he says that work to create the future. 

    Bad influence works

    Gates dropped out of college when he sensed that Microsoft was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. He also convinced Steve Ballmer to drop out of business school and be associated with Microsoft. Eventually, Ballmer took over as CEO replacing Gates. 

    Seek advice

    Seek advice from people that are aware of your drawbacks and weaknesses. By doing so, you give freedom to your team members to correct yourself and work upon your weak spots. However, these people must be very close to you and only a handful whom you can bank upon for judgment. 

    Do not procrastinate

    Putting off things for a later time is something that you cannot afford to do when you are running a business. This is what Bill Gates used to do in his early life. But when he started his business, he realized that this approach was not right and would not let him win accolades. 

    Sense of humor

    Do not mind looking silly. He has worked in certain commercials where he appears to look silly which is not very the kind that suits his stature. However, he has also worked with Jerry Seinfeld, a comedian. He has also responded to Zuckerberg’s ice bucket challenge.

In developing countries, it aims at bringing about improvement in health and providing them an opportunity to come out of poverty and hunger. 

    It was founded in the year 2000 and has its headquarters in Seattle, Washington, United States. It was earlier known as William H Gates Foundation. Melinda Gates and Bill Gates are the founders and the purpose is fighting poverty, providing education, and facilitating healthcare. 

    Bill Gates’s net worth is as of January 2021 (as per Bloomberg Billionaires Index) is $132 billion.
