The pioneers in CRM, Salesforce made its place in the venerable Dow Jones Industrial Average in August. At the beginning of this month (December 2020), the cloud-computing company acquired Slack and continued to register strong gains in earnings, stock prices as well as sales. Salesforce’s share prices went up by nearly 40 percent.
On the other hand, the corporate remained a winner of social causes including promoting racial and gender equality. It also lent great help in supporting the homeless, helped businesses and workers who were struggling during the pandemic.

For all the above-reasons, Marc Benioff, Salesforce CEO was honored with the title of CNN Business CEO of the Year. He joins the league of earlier CEOs Brian Cornell of Target and Chipotle’s Brian Niccol. Benioff said that Salesforce definitely had an eventful year and he is humbled upon receiving the title. And being added to the Dow Jones was “amazing”, which one has expected since the inception of the cloud-computing company.
